Grabbed this one at the Alko Helsinki keskusta Stockmann in early autumn and it's been in the fridge the whole time. Best by date of Feb 24, 2024.
Poured pretty fizzy, decent head, but then it dropped to nothing. Slightly hazed amber from sediment in the bottle. Faint smoke in the aroma. Mouthfeel is firm and a bit chewy, but unfortunately a bit flat. Caramel malts, some rye, doughy malts, light bitterness, and a watery smokiness that builds up on the palate overtime. Lacks depth though. Everything feels a bit dried up. Linger is a bit astringent too.
Needs more carbonation and smoke, less doughiness, and more of a layered malty backbone.
As a lager, rye, and Rauchbier geek, I'm left disappointment on so many levels.
