I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery in Newark.
Appearance: medium yellow with plenty of haze and a finger of pillowy ivory foam atop.
Smell: tropical, herbal, peppery hop aroma with a good base of sweetness. Very nice.
Taste: the pepperiness from the aroma gets a bit more to the forefront in the flavor; I'm not as much of a fan of that. But there's still a sweet and smooth tropical character that is good.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a perfectly cromulent hazy IPA. I'd order it again.

On draught at the brewery. It pours a thick, murky, pastel yellow-orange color with a half finger of creamy, bright white head and thick lacing. It's an attractive pour. The nose is big and fruity with lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine/orange, and floral hops. Its taste is more tart and bitter than the smell would indicate. There's lots of lemon peel and grapefruit rind, and subtle sweeter lychee from the Citra hops. The El Dorado hops provide firm, balanced bitterness throughout. This ale has a moderately creamy mouth feel with a pleasant level of carbonation, and the 7% ABV allows for easy drinking. Overall, Train Wreck is anything but. It's a tasty and enjoyable New England IPA. A fine job by a new brewer.
