Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a pretty, dark mahogany with a full finger of light khaki-colored head and thick, long-lasting lacing. The smell includes roasted malt, burnt coffee, chocolate, and tobacco smoke. It has a classic American Porter taste with roasted malt, burnt coffee grounds, earthy, nutty char, bakers chocolate, and a pleasant hoppy bitterness at the finish. It's well-balanced and the flavors are complimentary. The mouth feel is creamy and well-bodied for 5.4%. Overall, this is a really fine American Porter. It's a great achievement by a new brewery.
