On draught at the brewery. Served in a 14 oz. pub glass. It pours a hazy, golden-orange with a modest, milk-white cap and thick, soapy lacing. Its nose is subdued with notes of lemon, grapefruit, white wine, and earthy malt. The taste opens dry and bitter with lots of lemon peel and grapefruit rind. The Nelson Sauvin influence is subtle and the El Dorado hops lead with earthy, nutty bitterness and a hint of smoke but I'm not tasting the tropical flavors typically associated with El Dorado. Beneath is a crackery malt base. It's crisp and lite with fairly lively carbonation and it drinks easily at 5.9% ABV. Overall, Easy Rider is a very apt name. It drinks a lot like an APA: lite and crisp and much appreciated on a warm, muggy afternoon.
