From the bottle, it pours a hazy amber color with a very nice off-white head that slowly reduces as you enjoy the brew. In the nose, there is caramel and malt. The mouth gets the same, with some roasted notes, not overly sweet, but enjoyable.

L: A mix between gold and light amber, pours just a little foam, which disappears rather quickly. Clear.
S: Sweet, a little bit like marzipan and caramel/ toffee.
T: Not as sweet as one would expect from the smell, still one can strongly taste the malt, a little bit roasted. Then, after a few seconds, a little bitter taste, like citrus/ grapefruit.
F: A smooth beer. Not much carbonated, as typical for Franconian beers
O: One can definitely taste the alcohol in this beer, and nevertheless the sweet maltiness is matched nicely with the three different types of hops that are used (according to the back label: Perla, Select and Spalt). Very well balanced beer matching the expectations for a Helles Bockbier
