Yields a crystal clear amber colored beer with a huge, foamy head.
Smells of dried grass, rustic, grainy toffee together with a coumarin spiciness and a slightly smoky undertone.
Has a perfectly balanced lighter body with a well fitting, lively carbonation.
Tastes of heated spelt, creamy caramel and slightly dry, modest noble hops. Offers a well woven in toffee profile, consisting off whole grain bread, garden spices and wood rind, pushing the flavors into a sweeter direction. Finishes with a well nuanced, dry hop presence, building up a perfectly matching counterpart to the sugary malts, resulting into a crisp, complex and refreshing finish.
The beer’s ending is quite unforseen, adding quite a bit of character to it, which makes this utmost interesting and unusual. It is also unusually low in alcohol (4.4 abv) which I didn’t recognize at all, as far as its flavors go. This is good.
