i believe it is actually black lime, not black lemon, that they used in this, someone correct me if im wrong, but i believe the name is in error. another really cool beer from these guys, interesting, subtle in the right ways, yeast forward and funky, just delicious, super light and drinkable too, scant body but its not watery, a little grain in the background, no over fruited or flowered either in this case. interestingly it takes no color from the hibiscus, ive seen those flowers turn beers unnaturally pink, so wondering whats up with that, could just be a real modest dose, its the lime first to me in aroma and flavor anyhow. perhaps there is some kettle souring at play, but this is no more tangy or tart than an actual lime, and thats a refreshing place for this to be, especially with a little salt to make this a gose, drying and mineral forward, which accentuates some rustic character in both the grain and the yeast, almost more saison to me than gose, which is super cool, and this is crazy dynamic for being as light as it is. the lime is concentrated and there is a little white wine spritz to this too, the hibiscus adds more bitterness to me than floral character, but its so interwoven its hard to really pick this out. dry but not salty to me per se, tangy and mouthwatering even after i have a sip. love how layered and intentional this is, its fully effervescent and its really well refined. these beers are really flying under the radar, but they are doing some special stuff. this is lovely summer beer like nothing else available in these parts, super thirst quenching, highly recommended!

Taster at Eruption Brewing. Clear golden pour with a spotty bubbly head. Tart citrusy aroma, lime. Taste is lime, not overly tart, light floral notes.
