Tried this at The Olde Angel Inn in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.

A: Clear dark amber with a two-finger, off-white, creamy head that lasted a while and left a very nice lacing.

S: Caramel malt. Not very strong.

T: Moderately sweet and a light bitterness. Spice and caramel malt. Not much hop presence, but still pretty good.

M: Medium bodied. Smooth, crisp and refreshing. Soft carbonation.

O: Presentation was excellent, dinkability was very good, and the price was right. If you're ever on vacation in NOTL, stop by the Olde Angel Inn. They seem to have the best beer selection.

On Tap at the Angel Inn in Olde Niagara On The Lake...historic tavern. Tapped a dark copper-red with a small rocky cap. Not much in the nose but a bit of caramel sweetness, some sour mustiness and just the lightest wisp of hops. Silky but weak mouth feel...sweet caramel malts with a sourish ale yeast tang to it...hops are virtually non existant...inoffensive enough for a house ale but not worth the trip unless you live close by.

This beer is brewed specifically for The Old Angel Inn in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

Appearance: Crystal clear and copper to carmel in color with a sticky and chunky ivory head. Sticky ivory lacings coat the glass all the way down.

Smell: Malt sweetness dominates. There is a nice hint of cloves in the background.

Taste: Very spicy up front. Notes of pepper and ginger dance of my tongue. A hearty wheat bread taste starts to come through as the beer warms. Very complex and enjoyable to taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium and crispy. All things come together to make a very hearty beer.

Drinkability: Light enough for a session yet interesting enough to not get bored with it. A great beer that topped off a cool Canadian evening....
