Had a pint of this at the (great!) Angel Inn pub while in Niagara-on-the-Lake this weekend. I thought this was just fine, even though I had it right after a Fullers ESB. Nice deep golden colour with a solid white head and perfect temperature. Mild doughy aroma with a little bit of floral or weedy (rather than fruity) hops. Very good, solid mouthfeel and more flavour than is has aroma. Mildly roasted malts, a bit fruity. Detectable, but relatively insignificant hops. Easy to drink, and worth trying for sure.

The house bitter of the historic Angel Inn. It looks smells and tastes dreadfully average...not bad, but nothing stands out. Light amber color, smallish white cap...laces well. Light carbonation almost like a mild cask ale. Very light aromas of sweet fruits and grassy hops. Light to weak mouth feel...sweet up front then a mild bittering and a wet finish with a musty kiss from the yeast...not the best mild bitter but very inoffensive for a wide range of casual ale drinkers who may shy away from "micro brewed" beers.

Obviously I had this at the Angel Inn, in Niagara-on-the-lake.
A: Very pale yellow, some head, some lace.
S: Not much nose... just a little fruity.
T: Fruity like British bitter, but a little caramel corn flavour (perhaps diacetyl).
M: Light to moderate body and carbonation.
D: Not offensive, but not that good.

This beer is brewed by the Niagara brewing company for the Angel Inn in Niagara on the Lake. It pours a pale amber with a wispy head and nice lace on the glass. The aroma is of mild hops and some wet, fresh mown hay. The taste is nicely hoppy, but also full of mushy, slightly astringent malts. Theres a funny aftertaste that I attribute to the Niagara house yeast. The mouthfeel is fizzy but clean and full bodied. This is an ok bitter that could have a more neutral yeast flavor.
