It's unmistakeably an ale. I'm hesitant to refer to it as a stout. Mild flavor, but tart and .... ohhh 9% alcohol says the label. Nose is a little reminiscent of a gueuze but itÂ’s faint and light. A hint of yeast and musty notes-- I swear the bucolic Belgian countryside sneaks in around the "gatronomic" corners; the alcohol is noteable even in the nose- 9% is higher than most, but that cleaned- that washed feeling that meets my nostrils is unmistakable. The color is medium amber transluscent; the beer is unfiltered. The flavor is clean and refreshing on the palate. Long lasting finish. Very nice indeed!

Pours out black with a beautiful thick brown head. This is a stout stout. Full of flavor. The malts roll through quite nicely. There is a bit of an acidic charge. A full thick mouthfeel makes this brew a nice one. Extra indeed. Worth a try if you can get it.
