Pours black with a dark tan head that lingers for a bit. The nose is roasty char and some dark chocolate and a bit of coffee.
The dark chocolate and roasty char are forward and delicious on the taste, and there’s a bit of a nutty flavor mid-palate. The mouthfeel is full and nicely creamy.
I was worried this would be too sweet, but my concern was unfounded. Black Dog did a really nice job with this imperial stout.
