Note: this is a different version of Hobbs' German-style Pilsner that is also listed on the BeerAdvocate site. This one has an ABV of 5.4% and a gold color label /artwork. The other one has a 5.9% ABV and a dark label. These are two different beers.
Anyway, what a fantastic find. Your typical German or German-style Pils/Pilsner is fairly unremarkable and has an acidic spicy zing due to hard water and German hops.
This one, however, is delicious and very well made. It has a lovely floral and summer grassy profile AND a delightful dry noble hop presence. It is extremely close to some Czech pale lagers and Pilsners both aroma, flavor and rich golden color wise. Just a touch sweeter due to slightly different malts and hops.
Sooo soooooo good!

Can from Greg and Jane's
Lightly hazy deep straw in color with a thin white head that dissipates. Bready sweet maltiness with light toast and some earthy hops to counter. Faint bitter butterscotch and wet cardboard. Disappointing.

From a 16 fl. oz. can with no date showing. Sampled on Oct. 18, 2020.
The appearance is golden with moderate clarity and a quickly fading white head.
The aroma brings out sensations of toasted bread, honey, herbs and blossoms mostly.
Effervescent medium body. A bit better body than other pilsners I have tried.
The flavor is at first sweet and grainy and then the herbal hop characters introduce themselves followed by a dry finish. I love herbs but they seem a bit much here. Still above average.

From the pint can, it pours a slightly hazy light yellow-amber with a modest head, too soon diminishing to a thin ring. In the nose, it is slightly pilsner hoppy with malt. In the mouth, it is malty with a bit of hops.
