on draft at the brewery, served in can-shaped pint glass
very dark brown, almost black, off-white colored head. Great straight-ahead stout - dark chocolate, roast, balanced finish, fuller bodied

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can of this beer. Picked it up at the brewery on a recent visit to New Hampshire for a wedding. Can is date stamped 4/7/2022. Im pouring into my .5L dimple mug.
The beer pours a rich black coffee color with a dense beige to tan colored head of .5 cm. This foam sticks around and does create some dense lattice when I swirl the glass. Remains as a thin surface covering throughout the tasting.
Aroma is pretty mild, with a bit of caramel and brown sugar underneath a significant roasted malt profile. Some dark chocolate and coffee grounds too. No hop notes and ABV is hidden. Malty nose, but not sweet.
First sip reveals a medium body with gentle rolling carbonation.
The flavor is similar to the nose. I get a lot of roasted malts and some almost charred wood notes mixing with dark chocolate and over covering a bit of caramel. Again, hops and ABV hidden. Leaves a dry slightly bitter roasted malt note after each swallow.
The stout is decent enough and Im glad to have tried it, I would drink it again, but wouldnt chase down any cans.

From a 16 oz. can dated 10/01/21. Sampled November 24, 2021.
The appearance is dark brown to just about jet black underneath a lingering tan head. Lacing.
the malt sweetness of the aroma is about as forward as it can be with fine esters of roasted dark malts, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, earth, and a lower profile coffee grinds note.
Mostly full mouthfeel. Creamy.
Great sweet caramel and roasted malts embolden the flavor with a lesser note of chocolate and coffee although these characters are present. Not as forward as the sweet malts. Mild bitterness or more precisely and balanced and mildly dry ending. It is a traditional stout and I welcome it.
