Aged for 15 months in bourbon barrels, this is a big, smooth barleywine with a touch of spice and pine from the Chinook hops and rye malt. Sweet caramel and toffee on the nose and a delicate balance between the malt and hops make this a deceptively warming brew.

Poured from a bottle. Has a tan head that retains lacing on the glass. Smells of sweet toffee and brown sugar.
The taste brings a very small hint of bourbon with big notes of toasted malt and bread with a fresh, floral hop bitterness.

Picked up a 0.5l bottle yesterday at The Beer Store in Nashua for $13. Label sticker says it's from 2020.
Poured into a sniftah, it's a clear but dark chestnut color. It's topped by a 1/2" layer of light tan foam, ebbing back to a covering layer, with nice lacing left behind. Aroma presents dark fruit and brown bread, nicely semisweet with hints of bourbon. Body is medium-plus with minimal prickle on the tongue.
Flavor comes forth with more semisweet action, malty and flavorful. Has caramel and toffee, brown bread and subtle bourbon notes. Finish comes in with a bit of earthy, floral hopping. Quite solid, though finding it closer to an English Barleywine than an American version. Cheers!!

Bottle from 2024.
Pours clear amber with a half-inch head of off-white. Moderate retention and lacing. Plump malt, dark fruit, toffee, mild bourbon in the nose. Full bodied with a tacky, chewy mouthfeel. Plenty of malt on the palate with a nicely balanced bourbon barrel character. Finishes with minimal bitterness, chewy malt, and bourbon.
