An amazingly unoriginal name.
Nice pour. Very dark ruby with a very nice head. Dark for the style, looks like stout in the low light of the bar.
Smells of strong nutty malt, caramel, sugar candy, and a surprising kick of dry west coast hops. Nice. For the style, very complex.
Tastes of big nutty nuts, very sweet, moving into a dry and lightly floral hop presence in teh middle, and ending weakly, on watery note. Very flavorful for the style, nonetheless.
The watery finish brings the mouthfeel (and the whole beer) down a notch, but really it's a solid beer that earns points for going beyond the rather boring limitations of its style.
