Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a dark brown color with a 1 inch head. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is malts, dark breads, easy drinking. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but I was expecting something a little more flavorful.

Can't remember the last time I had a dunkel lager.
Cool looking bottle. Pours a very dark amber that was hazy enough so that at first I thought it was a dunkel weiss, because I don't know how to read labels.
After a quick snort, the aroma reveals not even a trace of wheat malt, and instead there's very heavy malt nodes with loads of biscuits and caramel. One of the toastier aromas I've come across in a long while.
Tastes like it smells. Sweet caramel up front, raisin toast in the middle, and then a sweeter back end that's bordering on Werther's Original levels of toffee sweetness. I don't think this is particularly fresh sample (although the label says it doesn't until July... or perhaps February, if they do that European thing were the numbers in the wrong place). But, whatever, it wears its light age pretty well, and should surely be appreciated by anyone looking for a malt-forward beer.

Dark copper, clear body with a thin beige cap. Aromas of fruit, malt, light caramel. Fruity sweetness. Lovely German lager yeast. Another good one from this newfound brewery.
