Kveik IPA fresh and thirst-quenching. An explosion of tropical fruits. Aromas and tastes of pineapple, mango and guava. Frank bitterness, veiled appearance. Brewed with barley, oats and red wheat. Fermented at high temperature with Kveik Espe yeast from Omega lab., hopped during fermentation and cold with Simco, Citra and Mosaic.

From a 16oz can, dated 01/06/22. Served in an IPA glass.
Pours a lightly hazed apricot-gold with two fingers of fluffy, soft suds. Very good retention, leaving a loose, merengue-like cap and a tattered curtain of gobby lacing.
Nose is sharp and crackery. Aromas of caramel, blueberry and grapefruit. Unusual.
Taste is crackery, grainy, spicy and bracingly bitter. Grapefruit bitterness dominates but the blueberry character persists as a boozy vapor in the sinuses. Spicy pine and grapefruit peel at the finish.
Feel is brisk and quenching, medium bodied, a smidge oily, and aggressively carbonated.
Overall, a well-brewed, intensely flavorful, bitter IPA that drinks way bigger than its stated abv. The grapefruit-blueberry flavor profile was unique IME.
