The 2024 rendition of Black is Beautiful Jazz Nights is a rich, malty Baltic porter featuring a healthy addition of blackberries. The classic, clean lager fermented base of this beer gets us into the swing of things like a Louis Armstong solo but this beer refuses to color inside the lines. A Miles Davis-esque improvisation of blackberries seamlessly meld roast character and dark berry into harmony making this brew a pleasant groove.

16 oz can into a pint glass. Cloudy brown color with two fingers of dense tan foam. Roasted malt, brown sugar, dates, and faint blackberry in the nose. Lightly roasted malt, chocolate, blackberry, and faint toffee/brown butter flavor. Mouthfeel is medium and quite creamy

16oz can dated "02/24" poured into a pint glass shows a cola colored body with a short lasting 1/8" head of off white foam that falls to wispy random spots and leaves the glass clean.
Aroma is all malt and I do sense some dark berries but only after warmth, and even then it is difficult to find.
Flavor is, again, bitter roast cocoa bean dominant but blackberries are clearly represented. Well balanced berry notes under the cocoa.
Feel is smooth and creamy, maybe to a fault, with neither carbolic nor acidic bite.
Overall an easy drinking porter with a touch of berry.
