Hildesheimer Braumanufaktur "#999 Roter Rauch"
,33L brown glass bottle coded "MINDESTENS HALTBAR BIS: 30.11.2021" and sampled on 2.10.2021.
Look: Clear deep chestnut colored body with orange highlights beneath a full head of rocky khaki colored foam. Very good head retention and lacing that leaves broken mountains of lace behind.
Smell: Sweet toasty bread with a soft smokiness.
Taste: Lightly sweetish and softly caramelish malt with a firm smokiness backed by herbal and spicy hops. Firmly bitter with a long lingering earthy, smoky, and spicy dry finish.
Feel: medium bodied and crisp with a median, seemingly natural fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: Quite a surprisingly good beer from what seems to be a new brewery, and with a rauchbier at that. Superb!
