This is far less hazy than I expect from a NEIPA. It does have a deep, rich amber color (SRM 11-13). The off-white head is dense, huge, and long lasting, leaving intricate webbing on a Strangebird IIPA glass.
Caramel and spicy hops are strong, otherwise, the aroma is rather simple. There is nothing overwhelming whatsoever.
The flavor is more bitter than sweet, with mild caramel. The hops are grassy, with a long, modest finish that has a strong presence.
The body is full and the texture is oily. It is well carbonated with alcohol about as expected.
Were this a hazy IPA I would consider it well done as such. It is better suited to watching a ballgame rather than relaxing. The only disappointing thing is that I didn't detect anything that would make it tropical.
