Lots of (vastly) differing opinions on what a milk stout should be in the reviews here. I’ll try to be as unbiased as possible.
Definitely pours a pitch black as advertised. Dark tan one inch head slowly appears and quickly disappears.
Dark chocolate, roasted malt on the nose. Mild coffee, caramel, cocoa.
Taste follows the nose pretty tightly. Very tasty lactose thickness to the sip, the roasted malty flavours mingle well with the dark chocolate ones. If anything, my complaint is less that the flavours don’t meld/come together, and more that the flavours are fairly straightforward. Nothing bad here, but nothing that will blow your mind. It’s a very classic milk stout
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. As someone who’s had a lot of nitro stouts, the carbonation doesn’t bother me. It’s carbonated enough, gently prickling on the tongue and robust enough to still tasty bubbly on the way down.
Really nice milk stout, nothing exceptional, but nice. Of all the ones I’ve tried so far, a lot have been imported by the LCBO from other countries and were expensive but top of the line. This doesn’t exactly compare, so I’ll keep looking for a really good local milk stout offering, but if you’re looking for a good middle of the line milk stout, inoffensive, tasty, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this.

I am generally a big fan of stouts, oatmeal stouts, sweet stouts, not so much imperial stouts. This beer is better than a Coors Light, but misses the mark as a stout. It pours dark brown, almost black as expected, but the head is overly foamy, looking more like a coke float than a stout. The head fades ridiculously quickly for the style. Aroma is not bad with some light coffee & chocolate but nothing special. The taste offers some almost sickly sweet chocolate along with vanilla, coffee & burnt malt but the flavours seem separated as opposed to blending together well. Carbonation is too light after exhausting itself on the pour & the mouthfeel offers some smoothness but is too light & not full like a stout should be. I would drink this again if the only other options were macrolagers but I will not seek it out. Sadly (since I live within an hour of Wellington) it may be the worst stout I've tried & these days there are plenty of good ones readily available to me when I'm looking for a stout.

355 ml bottle served at cellar temperature into a tulip. Purchased for $2.50 as part of a retro pack. This version advertised as 7.1% ABV.
Appearance - pours a dark brown, virtually black beer with a finger or so of tan head. A fine curtain of lacing clings to the side of the glass. Medium head retention.
Smell - fairly aromatic with hints of dark chocolate and coffee grounds, a certain earthy hoppiness to the aroma too.
Taste - sweet with plenty of chocolate, hints of vanilla, some smokiness and plenty of coffee. Rather nice and great blend of multiple flavors. Pepper and a touch of heat to close.
Mouthfeel - fairly smooth and velvety, good carbonation and the heat at the end lends itself to a tingling on the tongue. Body is substantial too.
Overall - a damn good milk stout with coffee, smoke and chocolate a tiny bit of heat and a fine body to go with it. Color me impressed.

Got this one from hopsolutely this past summer. Cheers guys!
Froma 75cl bottle into a snifter
IBU: 18
OG: 16.3*P
FG: 4.5*P
SRM: 47
APPEARANCE: Dark brown pour yields a 1+ finger, very loose and bubbly tan head with horrible retention. Really bubbly. Almost like I blew bubbles in my chocolate milk. Terrible. Black body with no carbonation evident. “Head” quickly pops down to nothing and looks completely flat by the end. Lousy looking.
SMELL: Decent aroma of roasted barley, chocolate, sweet cream, lactose and hints of coffee on the nose. Surprisingly decent.
TASTE: Roasted barley and milk chocolate up front. Lactose sugars as well. Sweet cream at the finish with lactose sugars, chocolate and some cardboard flavors lingering on the palate. Light leather is there as well with some stale coffee. Perhaps a bit of oxidization here, as the stale flavors and cardboard seem to suggest.
PALATE: Not great here either. Medium body and medium carbonation. A little creamy on the palate but mostly airy and watery going down, finishing a bit mouth-coating.
OVERALL: Relatively poor overall and didn’t bother finishing it. There seems to be a degree of oxidization here, as the stale coffee and slight cardboard qualities are pretty obvious. The nose was alight here, but the flavor didn’t follow suit and the head was just a disaster. Watery in the feel as well. Another lack-luster Wellington beer. Thanks again guys!

This is a slickly designed milk stout that succeds in all ways except one: the ABV is too damn high for the style.
This is mostly a matter of opinion, but I think the alcohol is just too present in this beer. There's a conspicuous heat on the nose and in the taste that reminds me of a barley wine or an imperial. It definitely tastes like 7.2%
A milk stout IMO should be smoother and almost quaffable-by-children.

Can taste alcohol. Left second bottle for a few months and it tasted better and alcohol wasn't as strong
