Bierboi Brewery “Néctar”
33 cl. Brown glass bottle coded “Lote 2002 Consumo preferente 02/24” and sampled on 24 November 2022
Look: Hazy golden/orange in color beneath a full head of white foam. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Sweetish grain, banana, clove, apple, and some dark dried fruit.
Taste: The flavor is fuller with more sweetness in the malt, a similar clove, banana, apple, and raisin/fig/plum character, and some white pepper and herbs. The alcohol is noticeable but otherwise fairly well restrained, and the bitterness is firm but smooth. Along with the alcohol it finishes dry, lightly spicy, and softly herbal.
Feel: Medium bodied with a zesty, fine-bubbled, and effervescent carbonation.
Overall: This is a very nicely done Belgian-style triple that satisfies and satiates without being overdone.
