Poured from a growler into a vintage short-stemmed goblet. Cola-colored body, with a slightly maroon-tinged tan highlight. Aggressive pour yielded only half a finger of tan head that settled in short order. This was meh until it warmed up from fridge temperature. That's when the flavors began to pop. Medium bodied, a little fruity but not overly so, with just enough plum character to make it interesting. Roasty, lots of char, hints of dark chocolate, licorice, and molasses, with lots of bitterness and a bit of astringency on the finish. Overall, a solid and enjoyable quaff.
