Poured from a growler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy, medium golden amber with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and fruit hops, orange, lemon, grapefruit and mild mixed tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and dank hops, grapefruit, orange, pine and mild catty dankness. Good finishing bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate, above average creaminess. A solid, well hopped pale ale of the style that straddles the pale ale / IPA boundary. Darker and hazier than a typical pale ale, but the malt is still bright and crisp enough for the style. On the pour, I thought this might be an English style ale, but the hops are all quite Northwest and while malty, still crisp and clean. A worthy, refreshing pale ale with better than average bitterness and a pleasant hop bill. This appears to be the flagship ale for this brewery and is a worthy one.
