This was another beer that I picked up at Gary's in Wayne late last year, as I never had anything from Commerce before. Never had anything from these guys before and this wasn't a bad first impression, although it came across as a bit generic to me. IPA's are a dime a dozen but if you're looking for one to kick back with mindlessly, this wouldn't be a terrible option.
The pour to this wasn't bad as it had an opaque apricot hue with a moderate head of whipped foam topping it off. A nice sheet of lacing was left behind with lots of thick, spotty coverage near the top of my glass as the more hints of rings further down. Not a strong aroma to be had here as there was some Crystal Malt, wheat, melon, and citrus twang in the muted nose with the taste closely and regrettably followed suit. Kept waiting for this to turn on and kick in as it warmed, but that never really happened as this was quite "meh" to me...
There was body and some carbonation to be had here with the aftertaste feeling like white wine, grape, and a hint of wood, but this had so much potential to it as it never met my expectations. Something appearing to be a date was stamped along the top of the can, but that was illegible. In some way, that was the case with this brew that deserved another go around, with a fresher feel to it...
