Picked up a crowler of this beer during a recent visit to the brewery. Im pouring into a snifter, cause its what Ive got on hand, besides water glasses.
the beer pours a very light straw golden color and rests only slightly darker in my glass. Light lager indeed. A fizzy bleached white head of .5 cm foams up and quickly fades to nothing. Many active streams of carbonation rise to the surface of the glass, but dont add anything there.
Aroma is a little grainy malt but also a very husky scent, almost like a peanut shell. Not much else going on here and the husky scent is more peanut like the more I sniff. Not peanut butter at all though, just the shell.
First sip reveals a light body and very fine fairly gentle carbonation. Texture is smooth and the beer drinks very easy, really thins out on the finish / swallow each mouthful.
Flavor is very mild, I get a little grainy note, some green apple, a little bit of a floral hop note and water. Not sure how else to describe it, just tastes like I took a sip of water. Not a very robust flavor, which is fine for this style, but maybe they went a little too far on this one. Nothing bad, but very thin and watery feel and flavor. Kind of a meh for me.
