I had this beer on-tap in a shaker pint at the brewery in Mill Creek.
Appearance: dark brown hue with just a little dash of haze and a thin layer of tan foam atop.
Smell: nice chocolatey aroma with a little caramelly breadiness to the malt. Not bad.
Taste: moderately sweet with some bready malt and a light chocolatey character. There’s kind of an astringency here, though, so it’s not super smooth.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a nice creaminess.
Overall: yeah, that kind of astringent note just takes away from an otherwise pretty good brown.
