It is not retired, just now called Altmühltaler Hell.
500ml bottle. It pours a nice super-helles gold color with a beautiful bright white head. The smell is nice, some pleasant malt and zingy hops. the flavor is maybe the downfall here It has a tanginess that reminds me of an adjunct lager though there is no taste of adjuncts. It is light and easy to drink though. Good thirst quencher for a hot day in Bavaria.

Light aroma of spicy hops and pale malts with a verz faint vegetal undertone. Pillowy yellowish-white head fades briskly making crackling noises as it slips back into the beer. Mild pale malt flavor just barely dominates the hop flavor. The malt is not crisp and clean like I was expecting, but more dulled and almost stale. The beer is light on carbonation and has a soft watery mouthfeel that doesn't sit well with corny malt flavors. I like pretty much every beer I drink, but this beer is borderline bad. It's not what I expect in a Helles, and not a beer I would drink again.
