Modest head production; poor retention. Body is a bit murky and a brownish-cola color. Appears to be quite a bit of sediment on the bottom. This beer becomes less and less attractive the more I look at it.
Nose is quite nice, featuring chocolate and coffee roughly equally. Not a lot of complexity; the only other notes I get are prune, cola, and caramel.
Flavor is surprisingly roasty, and not just from the espresso. In fact, it's almost entirely from the malt base up front; the coffee really comes along on the second half of the sip, strong through the finish. Consequently, it's a beer that starts and finishes roasty and bitter. Chocolate soft serve doesn't add much sweetness, but there are some cocoa notes. Additional tasting notes include strong notes of prune and cola, toast, char, and nuts. Surprisingly long finish.
This is a pretty tasty beer overall, but I think the execution isn't quite there. I don't quite get the point of brewers who get creative with these ingredients, but can't execute the concept.

Pours an effervescent chestnut with one finger of mocha/brown head, drops off fast. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Tons of coffee, some vanilla & chocolate
T: Straight ice coffee, with vanilla & cocoa powder, dryness up front. Plenty coffee, dryness, a little woody hop profile, vanilla & chocolate once this beer warms up. Finishes some pronounced chocolate & vanilla sweetness fighting through coffee beans & dryness
MF: Medium body, dialed back carbonation, body thins a touch as this beer warms up
Pretty drinkable for the ABV; if you are into coffee forward Stouts, you'll like/love this
