Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a snulip glass. It pours a dense, murky, dirty tangerine color with a large, creamy, milk-white head and thick, long-lasting lacing. It's a classic New England appearance and very attractive. The smell offers lemon peel, lime, grapefruit, and floral hops. As it warms there are also hints of stone fruit. The initial taste of lemon and grapefruit is quite bitter but the firm malt base provides some crackery balance. As it warms there are also sweet notes of pineapple and passion fruit. The Galaxy and Vic Secret hops work well together. The bitterness is crisp and clean throughout. The mouth feel is luxuriously thick and creamy with pleasant carbonation, and the 8.1% ABV gives it good substance. I was very impressed by Galactic Explosion. It's very well-crafted and enjoyable. Quite an achievement for a new brewery.
