Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a snulip glass. It pours a dense, murky, burnt orange color. The cap disappeared quickly leaving a soapy film of lacing. It closely resembles orange juice. Initially there wasn't much of a smell but as the ale warmed a bit the nose developed with grapefrui, lemon, lime, and some tropical notes. The taste follows suit. Its quite tart with grapefruit rind and lemon peel over a solid crackery malt base. As it warms and breathes there is also pine sap from the Idaho 7 hops and some peach sweetness from the Galaxy. It finishes with clean, strong bitterness. The mouth feel is nicely thick and creamy with an appropriate level of carbonation, and the 7.8% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, Rambler is a bitter, citrusy, refreshing ale. I enjoyed it.
