Originally called “steam” beer, this quintessentially American beer style was created by pre-prohibition brewers as they re-imagined traditional lager beer fermented at warmer temperatures. Clean and crisp, medium-bodied with hints of toasted bread, caramel and a distinctive woody/minty character. Its name references Kent’s iconic depot for steam locomotives - or pufferbellies - back in the day.

Taster at brewery. Copper colored pour, thin head. Dry, malty aroma. Taste seems a bit off, leathery, malty, dry, tannic, bitter. Slightly metallic finish
