I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a tulip glass. This is billed as a "vanilla porter".
Appearance: black hue with a thin layer of tan foam atop. I dig a dark porter.
Smell: plenty of vanilla in the aroma, but also a little bit of chocolate in there. Not quite one-note, but close.
Taste: light roast and a bit of caramel and toffee, with the vanilla overlaid. I think maybe a little less vanilla, or more malt flavors, would balance this a bit more. Still, not bad.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and okay creaminess.
Overall: not a bad dessert beer, and I like that the ABV is reasonable. But I think a less vanilla-forward balance would suit this beer.
