Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malt with light biscuit, dank hops, a little pine and dankness; subdued. Flavor is pale malt with subdued biscuit, dank and piney hops, pine resin, grapefruit rind and some catty dankness; moderate to assertive bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Not sure I've had an IPA with this profile before. The malt is interesting, feeling substantial, but with little grain character, almost neutral, but also supportive of the hops. The hops lean to alpha oils with modest herbal hops flavors. Fortunately, there is a good bitterness to the hops and the low key flavors tend to pine, citrus rind and dankness, a good West Coast profile. I'd almost think this might be an old can that has lost its bright herbal hop notes, but I got it from the brewery cooler, so I assume it's recent. Could use a little more hop character, but hits the spot for a hop punch in the finish.
