Slightly stronger and hoppier than a helles, but less hoppy than a Pilsner, this working man's lager originated in the Coal Mining city of Dortmund Germany. Light, bready malt with just enough hops to balance.

Poured from a 500mL bottle into my weizen glass.
The look is what a lager should be, big 2 finger head with lively carbonation. The color is quite light, a pale straw with feint haziness. Head does dissipate relatively quickly and is made of of some larger bubbles mixed with finer bubbles making the head relatively light.
Smell is lightly kinked unfortunately, nothing crazy but a bit off, could be because it was a reject bottle given for free. Behind that there is a large presence of yeast and light buscuity malts and very light grassy hops.
Taste carries some skunk, but overall is pretty pleasant I'm sure it would be better if you actually paid for the bottle the malts are very present and crackery as a German lager should be. I really like these malts and there is a bit of a bitter bite but as you drinks it fades away flavor is quite nice especially for free.
Feel is a bit light for my taste despite the big malt presence it still feels a bit watery, and the head isn't helping. I'm not familiar with the dortmunder export style however and it seems like a nice after work on a hot day beer, but it's still pretty cold out this time of year.
Overall a pretty simple beer but a good showcase for the malts which are very present and are quite nice for a light beer malt lover. Could be a bit more substantial in body, and I'm not sure what this skunking is but overall it's pretty good.
