Copper color with an off-white foamy head that sinks quickly with light lacing. Aroma of hops, honey, sweet malt and citrus. Flavor is doughey and malty, with hints of apple and pear. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, followed by a metallic aftertaste, which ruined it all for me.

Probably my least favorite Geary's. The Ringwood totally dominates here, since the beer is so light, maybe even lighter than the summer ale. Big poufy head totally disappeared, mouthfeel light fizzy & refreshing. Very lager-like except for that buttery overpowering Ringwood. I am wondering about the age of this beer since there is some sourness and some slight sediment at the bottom. Date your beers Geary's!

A nice, drinkable ale. Golden colur with a foamy head that fizzes quickly to a thin lace. Very pleasant floral hops, a bouquet actually, and faint malts. Mildy sweet malt, buttery, with cool herbal hops. Nearly creamy medium-light body. Gets a more flavorful and smooth body when less cool.
This brew drinks great, smooth, easy and tastey. Enjoy. Cheers!

Bit too much of the Ringwood yeast character for this lighter beer, of course I don't mind it that much though the aroma was a bit over the top in it.

Presentation: 12oz short and fat brown twist-off bottle. No freshness date, but there's this cool little lobster holding an American flag in its right claw.
Appearance: Clear golden beer with a rather flat white foam head.
Smell: Aromatic bouquet of floral hops and light malts.
Taste: A fizzy mouth feel creams up the palate a bit, while a light-bodied, even and mild sweetness coats the entire experience. Malt/grain flavours emerge from this, adding a touch of dryness and a pleasant crisp snap (wheat addition) that then segues into a moderately bitter (faint lemon rind-like), raw hop character that's slightly rough on the palate with flowery/herbal undertones. Low level diacetyl characters are also present (some DMS too?), but not overpowering and actually complements the beer. Finish is pretty clean with some lingering flavours.
Notes: Apparently modeled after the golden ales of America in the 30's - 50's, Geary's American Ale is a sheer classic in my book. Very easy to drink and uncomplicated, it simply seems to hit the spot, every time. Serve chilled to avoid any yeasty or tannin flavours that might show up if warmed.
