From a 12 oz. can stamped 11354. Sampled on May 29, 2022.
The appearance is copper-amber underneath a foamy cream colored head. Modest clarity.
The aroma is caramel malts, brown bread, and pine hop sensations. But the hops are not overpowering.
Medium mouthfeel and fairly smooth.
The taste is more sweet than hoppy with those same caramel and bread characteristics playing up then a lower profile pine bitterness bringing up the rear. I prefer traditional IPAs like these to NEIPAs.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Hannaford's in York, Maine for about thirteen dollars. Traveling from MA for family get-together, trying to support the local economy. Been a while since I have had a Geary's. Mediocre brew, just doesn't measure up to quality of NE IPA scene.

Yikes! Old cheesy hop flavor mixed with rancid grass from the bottom of a lawnmower.

Beer is a slightly hazy copper with a persistent ivory head. Nose is pleasantly fruity and hoppy: some mango and a bit of citrus. Taste is surprisingly different from the aroma: a somewhat bitter orange finish. Mouthfeel is pleasantly light. Overall, the aroma got my hopes up, but the taste isn't as complex as I had hoped. But it's a straightforward and good IPA. Doesn't really stand out in the crowded IPA field. It's certainly not bad, but it's not something I'd seek out.

Pint on draft at Hadlock Field on Sea Dogs opening day!
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a big white head with decent retention.
Aroma: Pine, resin, hops, some citrus.
Taste: Follows nose. Grapefruit leads, followed by some pine and floral notes. Pretty decent!
Mouthfeel: Drinkable but has a bitter finish, which is not unexpected. Worth taking slowly because of a moderate booze/hop combo.
Overall: Nice IPA. Best thing I’ve had from Geary in a while. Would gladly reach for this again. On a blind taste, you wouldn’t guess it’s Geary. Or at least I wouldn’t!

I was under the impression that they didn't use their house yeast on this one, but I was misinformed. As many of their beers, it is a butter bomb of the highest order.
It looks great! A beautiful, crystal-clear gold with a short head that dropped very quickly.
Not much of a nose. I get a bit of toffee and some faint piney hops.
A piney hop front end with some resiny bitterness in the middle along with some grapefruit and orange pith. And then comes the butter! Sort of a butter semi-sweet cookie thing happening with the malt. The good news, it doesn't linger. The lingering finish is pretty dry and moderately bitter (cascades, baby).
Overall, it's not bad (once I embraced the diacetyl) but will not likely visit this one again.

Surprised to see this 16 oz. can from Geary's during a very recent trip to Maine. Living in NH, I haven't seen much from Geary's in quite some time and certainly haven't seen a canned IPA (or, for that matter, any other cans) from Geary's. I was even more surprised, and very pleasantly so, when I tasted the product - radically different from their earlier IPA which used a yeast I always associated with Shipyard products. The new management at Geary's has reinvigorated this product (at least to my taste) with a well balanced IPA emphasizing citrusy notes not present in their previous IPA. I'm hoping they'll expand their distribution to include NH in future months.

Pours a slightly hazy amber gold color with a fluffy 3 finger head that settles down to a half with nice full lacing.
Aroma is citrusy with a hint of peach, very full nose.
Taste is citrus up front but a fairly strong bitterness kicks in before midway through and stays strong to the finish.
Feel is crisp due to low malt but feels a little more full due to the bitterness.
This beer reminds me a little of Sip Of Sunshine with the color, full citrus bouquet and higher bitterness. Not bad - I don't really associate Geary's with the new styles of IPA but I will have to rethink them now.

A: Pours a golden orange color with 2 fingers of head that slowly fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing
S: Some citrus and earthy hops up front along with a balancing caramel maltiness
T: Follows the nose. Some citrus and earthy hop notes up front along with a moderately sweet caramel maltiness. Bitterness grows towards the finish. Finishes with lingering earthy tones
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. On the smoother side
O: A solid IPA that is very easy to drink and extremely balanced. Worth checking out if you're into super balanced IPAs that aren't either juice or bitter bombs
