A - poured into mushroom tulip. caramel, opaque brown with a reddish hue. very light tan head sets up and dissipates to a thin layer in a minute and carbonation stays ringed around the glass throughout.
S - pennies; copper; figs, caramel; some noble-ish hops.
T - once you get past the nose, this is a great beer. sweet malt up front, into cold brew coffee and some hop bitterness that finishes clean and balanced with notes of caramel and bittersweet and char.
M - full-bodied for a lager. spritely carbonation lasts throughout to balance.
Overall a solid beer and one the best from the limited few I've had from Geary's apart from their ales. This is a great holiday and seasonal beer that drinks very well on its own as an after or before dinners, but I don't know if it would pair well with food---haven't tried.
