Appearance - The beer was brownish black in color with little carbonation.
Smell - The nose was pretty malt forward. There was a hint of baker’s chocolate.
Taste - In the initial taste, I noted chocolate, coffee grounds, and sidewalk chalk. The label said the beer was aged in whiskey barrel, but that must have been only for a few minutes. There was little barrel presence here. The taste ended with notes of dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel - There was some viscosity, but not is was fairly thin with little carbonation.
Overall - A coffee stout without coffee is a failure.

Pour is jet black with a dense deep cinnamon colored head. Beautiful beer.
Nose is a huge wave of freshly roasted espresso layered subtly over soft bourbon, vanilla, oak
Taste is similar, but a bit more balanced. Fresh espresso upfront followed quickly by hints of bourbon, vanilla, and rich dark chocolate. Finished in chocolate covered espresso beans.
Smooth, creamy, thick body.
Overall an excellent beer.
