Pouring a soft cloudy pink, this gose was brewed with close to 1lb of tart cherries per gallon. The cured sumac was sourced from a single farm in Gaziantep, Turkey and adds tasting notes of sour cherry, salt & vinegar and sunny acidity. Brewed with Persian blue salt, the end result is a tart, bright and refreshing gose – the perfect anytime beer.

12 ounce can - $4.50 at Woodstock Beer Market in Woodstock, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a hazy, reddish-pink body with some non-head-accumulating fizz.
Smell: Lightly sourish, lactic notes with sweetish, fruity tart cherry and some subtle floral, tangy hints.
Taste: A little sweetish with plenty of tart cherry fruitiness, you get predominately a Luden's Wild Cherry flavor amidst the lactic hints. A salinity felt throughout. Some floral, some fruity, some sourish citrusy hints, but it's hard to discern what is the sumac versus what's the base beer and fruit addition. Not bad, though I'd be more curious to try the sumac in a beer without such akin, complimentary flavors to obfuscate things.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Moderate carbonation.
Overall: Not bad.

This example of a Persian beer produced in Brooklyn by a couple of female refugees from Iran has nothing I’ve ever tasted to quite compare it to. However, as a gose, flavored with sumac, it is a more than respectable entry, very much worth a try

L: Pours an opaque cherry red. Not much of a head but looks well carbonated.
S: Light smell of tartness and salt that is typical of a gose.
T: Tart up front with saltiness that keeps you coming back for more. Slight cherry and sumac on the back end.
F: Light, bright, and drinkable
O: This is a great gose with a unique color and flavors added. The flavors are very subtle and I’d have trouble picking them out if I didn’t know what they were. This is a good thing as it isn’t overdone or gimmicky.

A: The beer is slightly hazy cherry red in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high light pink head that died down and left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of salt are present in the nose along with hints of what I presume to be the sumac.
T: The taste follows the smell but has stronger flavors of sumac along with a bit of sourness and saltiness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The use of sumac in this gose definitely makes it unique compared to other beers in the style.
