Fruit and caramel malt aromas upfront with a medium body. Finishes smooth and easy. The essence of spicy Belgian yeasts dance on your face. And on the ceiling.
Brewed with a bit of wheat, a bit of light caramel malt, and a lot of special b malt means lots of caramel aroma and caramel flavor. This is another traditional Trappist style. We add a small amount of sugar in the boil so it's not too sweet, and our house yeast provides aromas banana, clove and pepper in harmony with the caramel malts. An amber selection fit for any occasion!

16 ounce can, no canning date I noticed on the can or label. Served in a chalice, the beer pours a somewhat hazy amber color with about a couple inch frothy off-white head that stuck around for a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit, clove, banana, and some caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some candi sugar flavor noticeable too. Taste seems a bit subtle compared to the aroma. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and creamy with a lot of soft carbonation. Thought this was a decent enough brew overall, will have to try more of their products sometime.
