Appearance: Pours a clear, deep ruby to bronze color with a strong off-white head. SRM of 17. (4.00)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of brown bread, toast, caramel, some hints of banana and spices underneath. (4.00)

Flavor: Moderate flavors of brown bread, caramel, grains, wheat, even some sweet banana and plantain notes. Mild spices. Leans malty. Very mild roast. Mildly sweet. (4.00)

Feel: Medium-body, moderate carbonation, Malty, smooth, with a mild sweetness. (4.00)

Compared to New Glarus Weizen Doppelbock 12/2022: Pours lighter, milder head. Milder aromas. More caramel and light roast. Less grains, banana, bread, bubblegum, and yeast. Slightly darker and leans more doppelbock.

Overall: A good doppelbock here. Brown bread, caramel, some syrup and sweet plantain flavors underneath. The right body, smooth and not too sweet. All around pretty good. (Rating: 3.95)

12oz can into a Becher glass.
L: Pours dark mahogany amber w a central yeast wave, a thin khaki head that goes to skin, edge foam then to nothing, low fine carbo, no lacing.
S: Alcohol, caramelized malts, a hint of tart cherries, almost wine-like.
T: Sweet caramelized malts, a hint of cherry, toasty, dark fruits, plum, raisin, prune, a faint hint of dark berries, fairly deep and moderately earthy, light yeast, brown bread, light alcohol. Very full flavored. Sweet at first, lightly sour in the middle, yeast & dough at the finish.
F: Smooth med-heavy wash, well rounded, med-full bodied w a medium length lightly drying finish.
O: A sweet/tart strong lager with a snappy & smooth feel that hits a lot of high notes. IMHO the lime zest taste controls the sweetness. Large & bold tasting, it is outstanding in it's style.
**TIP: Do not drink this beer too cold. Flavors unlock as the beer acclimates & breathes.

Tons of sweet caramel malts, raisins, prune, and ethanol, with a slight undercurrent of yeast and bitter hops on the finish.

12oz can stamped 04/13/22 (47 days ago) poured into a becher glass at just above fridge temp, no ABV listed on label. The beer pours bright dark amber with mahogany highlights and khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring scattered islands leaving a few spots of lace. The aroma is mild with sweet, nutty malt. The taste is semisweet, nutty, toasted malt with good depth and an earthy, lightly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with just less that average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Cleanly lagered and never goes full sweet or cloying. Overall, very good.

Beautiful reddish brown color with a ring of tan head. Smells of nutty bread and caramel. Tastes toast, caramel, maybe a bit boozy and hops in the finish. I really love Boch and Doppelbock beers and find them difficult to pass when I come across them on tap. This is a solid beer but probably not my favorite doppelbock but definitely worth drinking.

12oz can from the variety pack... enjoyed after a stressful day dealing with the bank...

Deep red-brown, tan head, smells doughy and sweet, very slight bubblegum, a good amount of booze as it warms. Sweet taste, little bit of dark fruit and *VERY* slight cocoa, all mixing with the malt base and ending bitter and slightly boozy... everything is expertly mixed

From a 12oz can:

Appearance: Clear ruby amber, good head.

Smell: Rich fruitiness, sweet.

Taste: Sweet, caramel, raisins, full bodied.

Overall: A doppelbock from a WarPigs mix pack. Nice caramel and fruit flavors without being too sweet. Good feel and body, not boozy. A solid big bock!

Canned 2/21/22; drank 3/17/22 @ the Yarchives.

See-through orange/purple appearance.

A rough pour yielded a HUGE khaki head; strong, frothy lace.

Prune, caramel & faint clove notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Prune & caramel flavors up front; mild clove & faint pickle juice notes on the finish.

Just a bit off on the flavor, but overall better than the other WarPigs offerings I've had.
