Brown to amber in color with a quarter inch of creamy khaki brown on top. Heavy, soapy lacing is present. The aroma is of caramel to bready malt. I’m tasting biscuity malt and caramel. The mouth is smooth and approachable.

Not too sweet or heavy, with deep flavor that is worthy of a snobbish wine tasting. Roasted malt, oak, pine, dark fruit... Bordering on too hoppy, but otherwise it's just right

I got three cans of this beer from a mixed 12pck that I bought from my local meijer store. It poured a clear dark amber with thin off white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had dark rye and grain presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet caramel malt base and sharp grain and hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

12oz can from MK.IV variety pk packaged Mar 3, 2023 into a 12oz willie becher glass.
L: Pours rich, deep dark amber w a thin light khaki head that goes to creamy sea foam fairly quickly, VG steady carbo, splotchy sticky loose lacing.
S: Caramelized malts, brown bread, a hint of dark fruits, gently earthy, lightly floral.
T: Toasted caramel malts, brown bread, light citrus, a suggestion of toffee, raisins, light plum, a little bit nutty in the finish, ends slightly zesty. Not much aftertaste.
F: Gently crisp and snappy med-light bodied w a med-short length semi-dry finish.
O: A lovely beer that smells malty but ascends with tastes of snappy zesty hop notes. Very tasty, well-balanced and EZ drinking. Fantastic paired with food. It is very good in its style.

As what's probably the most refreshing dark beer on the planet, the German Dunkel finds a place in many beer drinker's routine because of its characterful taste and its utmost drinkability. WarPigs brings this sensible character to their portfolio.
With no warning in sight, Ominous Portent greets the nose with a toasty, caramelized, nutty scent while pouring deep copper and off-brown. Fighting through its rich and foamy lather, the first sip is sweet with honey and caramel with hints of savory bread crust.
While the dark lager washes the middle palate with sweet malts, the sweetness slowly relaxes and the more toasty, bready and crusted character rises to meet the waining sweetness. A more assertive bitterness than expected swoops in nearing finish for a brisk, peppery and citrusy hop bite that does more than just balance the beer.
Medium bodied, fuller and sweeter than its more authentic German counterparts, this less than ominous beer is as much of an amber ale as it is a dark German lager. Its simpler malt profile and lacking smoothness leaves the fans of Dunkel wanting more.

Pours out of the can a crystal clear reddish copper color with a finger of head that dissipates in about a minute. Smells like biscuit and roasted malts. Tastes robust and the flavors match the nose, with a certain spice at the tail end. I very much like it and is a good one to include in this version of the WarPigs variety pack!

Somehow this was not added on this site yet, but was on the brewers website, so the guy who got to add it to BA (Me) is not giving it the best rating, as it was to not to my particular taste.
Grabbed mine in a variety pack I spotted at total wine.
The beer itself has a beautiful color when poured into a glass with a smaller foam head which doesnt last long.
Hopefully we can get more people to try this and rate it on here for a more fair rating/review.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
