The road to Mars begins with aromas of vanilla and marshmallow. While the journey comes full circle with notes of banana, clove, and a hint of caramel. Balanced and nuanced, Mars Transfer Orbit is our ode to the hefeweizens of Bavaria.

Pours out to a perfectly hazy burnt orange, forming a large white head with superior retention and lacing. Carbonation is brisk. There is a gluey swirl of yeast that streams in the bubbles. The nose is beautiful, just classic and perfectly balanced hefe weizen of greenish bananas and cloves with none of the burnt tar, asphalt that some of the current yeast strains over here in the US are throwing. The mouthfeel is really amazing. Something is going on here. I think that there might be carageenan in this beer because there is a very unique and peculiar viscosity. Incredibly smooth. I know people throw "creamy" around, but this sets the bar. Chewy. The taste is perfect and mimics the nose. Beautiful crackery wheat , mild bitterness. The finish is perfect. No off flavors or aromas.
I have to say this is single handedly the best Hefe weizen that I've ever had that is brewed in the states. This sets the bar and I wish I had the recipe. Highly recommended. World class example. This should be getting more love and US brewers should learn what they are doing at 3 floyds with this one.

Pours darker than a hefeweizen normally - dark orange or coppery in color. Almost looks like syrup at the end of the pour. Definitely doesn't taste like syrup - really well balanced with citrus, orange peel and coriander. Smell is a citrus and floral aroma. Love it. Great refreshing summer beer if you want a break from your IPAs.

Pours out of the can a hazy copper color with a finger of head that dissipates within a minute. Some slight sediment floating but not alarming. Smells of yeast, grapefruit rind, and cloves. Tastes of cloves and bit of banana. The mouthfeel is staggeringly smooth and has the finest velvet bubbles. I enjoyed this very much.
