Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is copper, head is off white with fine bubbles, head presents one finger thick but dissipates quickly to thin ring on glass sides.

Smell is sweet caramel and grape nuts, toast, earthy hops.

Taste is more sweet caramel and lighter grape nuts, some toast, brown sugar, earthy hops.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness.

Overall a slightly sweeter Oktoberfest/Marzen style.

Pours a lovely burnt orange color with a finger of head. The nose has modest caramel notes. The primary flavor note is also caramel. The body is hearty.

12oz canned 07/23/24 (3 months old) poured into a mug at fridge temp, no ABV listed on label. The beer pours bright medium amber with light khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is mild, nutty, caramel and has a hint of a metallic note. The taste is semisweet pale malt with caramel and a not quite tart note. Mild bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, not the best oktoberfest.

Pours a slightly unfiltered amber color with a sudsy light tan head that provides moderate lacing and leaves a nice cap on the body of the beer as you journey down the glass. Beautiful marzen.

The nose features a nice bit of sweet caramel, wheat bread, and floral hops, all of which are also the dominant flavors on the taste. The mouthfeel is medium and edges toward crispy.

A very nice representation of the style, I’ll try this again.

Crystal clear dark amber body with a finger of cream colored sudsy foam. Smells of gooey caramel, plum, raisin, with toast and almost peated earth. Taste is earthy with slight smoke meeting sweet caramel malt, rounded out by old world hop and dark nuts. Feel is smooth, malty and heavier without being too full. A bit weird with the smoke accents

12 oz can into a mug.
L: SRM 6.5 pours a slightly yeasty rusty Amber color with a 1/4" off white head that recedes to thick edge foam, steady light carbonation, no lacing.
S: Caramel malts, yeast, brown bread.
T: Lightly sweet caramelized malts, a hint of orange, grapefruit zest, very distant citrus pith, a touch of brown bread.
F: Gently brisk then smooth medium to med-heavy bodied feel with a med-short lightly drying finish. It is fairly clean.
O: Malts are lightly sweet and a touch of zest makes the finish lightly dry. A very tasty beer that hits the style marks well. No frills and or experimentation here. Traditional. It is excellent in its style.

I had this on draft 8/19/24 @ the Music Box Theatre.

Semi-opaque brown/orange appearance.

Small off-white head; decent lacing remained.

Cereal grain & faint caramel notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Cereal grain & mild caramel flavors. A bit rich but solid overall.

Pours clear dark copper with a thick off-white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, dark bread, a touch of stone fruit. Flavor follows the nose, a touch sweet up front, no real bitterness in the finish. Feel is medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, an excellent Marzen from an American brewery.

Part of the mixpack #6. 12oz can. 6.1% ABV. No specs or ingredients per the website or label.

Pours out to a sparkingly clear deep amber, forming a large light yellowish head with very good retention and lacig. Carbonation is moderate ~2.5 carbs or so. The nose is wonderful. Chewy malt notes right up front, a clean ferment, very little sulfur, very little hops, some dates and golden raisins. Mouthfeel is bright and chewy with a medium body, light acidity and a very smooth finish. The taste is stellar...malt front and center, very close to a good dopplebock in it's intensity, then some dates and a nice leather/tobacco note in the finish. Bitterness is quite mild. Very subtle toast and some roasted chestnuts or hazelnuts in the middle. No off flavors or aromas.

This is a stellar marzen. I'm not a huge fan of the style, but this is how I like them, rich and malty, closer to a dopplebock. Very well brewed, they nailed this one. I haven't had a marzen quite like this, chewy and malty, especially a US brewed one. Highly recommended.
