On tap at the Tinkoff in Kazan.

A: Pours a deep mahogany with a three-finger tan head. Head quickly fades to a thin layer.

S: Either this beer is infected, the lines aren't clean, or there's trouble in river city. Overpowering the malt and roasty character, there is the overwhelming scent of lactic acid.

T: Not quite as bad as the smell, but absolutely nothing to write home about. The taste is thin and one-dimensional.

M: Light and heavily carbonated. It's a hot day, so I can't fault it for this.

D: The lack of any interesting complexity does not interest me in another one.

Thanks to Cigar City Brewing for this one.

A: Pours a clear light brown hue with a very small head. No lace.

S: Light aromas. What is there is made up mostly of sweet caramel malt with a touch of brown sugar.

T: Taste is similar to aroma. Nice caramel malt up front with a bit of toasted malt in the finish.

M: Rather thin.

D: Not bad, not real big on flavor though.

This is a real good looking brew when it comes to the table, but disappoints where it counts. It is a very dark brown under a big firm tan head that lingers a long time and leaves beautiful lace all the way to the bottom. The nose is sweet and malty, with just a touch of citrus sour. The mouth is slightly prickly and just a bit heavy with sweetness. The taste starts as heavy malt, almost like chocolate. While it is cold, there is no discernible hoppiness at all. Towards the bottom of the glass I started to notice a bit of a bite in the finish, but still not much. While good, it isn't great.
