Evening Sky Brewing Company

 

Visited this spot with some buddies the other evening. We did a short hike on the blue blazed trail, ended up on route 4 and walked another couple hundred yards to the brewery. There is an outdoor patio with a food truck on the back.
Inside is a U shaped bar of about 15 stools and several table chair combos around the room.
There are some vintage video games standing against the wall, I spied Ms Pacman as a reference.
Indoor decoration was sort of industrial with some cool hanging lights and open high ceiling area.
Service at the bar was friendly and answered questions, etc. I had planned on trying some porters that were listed on the brewery website as available on draft. However, none were available when we arrived. Apparently, untappd is up to date, but the website isnt...??? Website could link there I think.
I gently expressed my displeasure about no porters and went with an American Wheat ale instead. There were 4 or 5 seltzers and an IPA or two, plus a vanilla wheat. Im sworn off IPAs right now, so this was the best I could do. No cans to go were available either.
The brewer/owner did make a point to stop by our table and apologize for the porter shortage. KUDOS to him for this, was very nice and he chatted with us about upgrades and expansions they have forthcoming. More tanks towards getting roughly an 80% capacity increase. So that is good news.
I was disappointed in the selection, I liked the brewer chat and the American Wheat Ale was pretty solid. Ill make another trip after their capacity is expanded and try a few more beers. Might re -rate my review if the selection has improved.

Cool little spot on the main drag, although well hidden in the back of the building. Entry into small foyer with tasting room on the right. Large L-shaped bar on front wall towards the middle of the room with a few tables and counter seating along the perimeter. also has outdoor patio in back and a few arcade games to the left of the bar. Seven beers on tap, I especially enjoyed the Horizon IPA, the other two I tried were good, but not special. they also serve wine on tap. Brewer/bartender was very friendly and personable.

Nice place and friendly staff. They have food trucks and live music (on occasion). I look forward to visiting again.
