colorado grown cascade in this, a way cool recipe, you dont see this sort of thing with fresh hops, and it was a joy to be drinking beer in here again, marginally less hungover this time, which helps, man is their beer ever good, hangover or not! the hops arent super intense in this, but they add a lot, herbal and spicy with soft citrus, they actually kind of hit like noble on steroids, which i didnt expect, but i suppose the base beer is kind of twisting me that way. impressive pour, lovely clear light golden color with a high head on it, stunning really, these guys have the technical details down brilliantly well. the nose is obviously fresh but only modestly hoppy to me, i still get the pale european malt and the distinctive lager yeast, bready and crackery and majorly earthy and agricultural, on the dry side, hints of cheerio, white wine, and then the hops, which come with dry spiciness, dehydrated lemon peel, and herbs like sage and even marjoram, unique, not like cascade is in the northwest, generally speaking, more like some of the new york state grown cascade beers ive had, makes this very unique, and i loved the base beer but this does elevate it, add some unconventional complexity while still letting it keep on being a banger of a czech lager, still way easy drinking too, creamy feeling with peppery bubbles and a nice smoothness, not too light in body at all, dont let the abv fool you, and with restrained hop bitterness late. of the finest quality, ive loved all ive had from this place, and this one is way up there with their best! one of the more unique fresh hop beers i had this season for sure.
