an approachable but flavorful blonde ale here, to me slightly english on the ferment, and with such a light grain base, the yeast profile is allowed to come through and flavor this quite a bit. its got a low golden glow, isnt perfectly clear but still looks bright, and loses its inch of white head pretty fast, not quite as persistent and carbonated as i like these lighter styles to be, but its not flat either. the aroma is lightly bready, simple but earthy, toasted but not sweet, some depth for the style really, and with a little breadiness from the yeast in the mix as well. the hops seem modest, possibly noble, soft spice to them bringing out the best in the grain, there is great balance here, and while this is small timey and a little amateur, it also shows some real understanding of the process and some ambition in a mass appeal brew. the flavor is similar to the nose, a little more yeast forward which i like, and the hops do not have hardly any bitterness even though they kind of smell like they should. on the dry side, some minerals coming out as it warms, maybe ever so slightly soapy, but this is my preferred type of blonde, and i would sacrifice some cleanness for some flavor. well done, i thought the beer here in general was ahead of the curve, cool place too!
