Copenhagen 29/5 2023. 44 cl can from Meny, Illums, Kbh. K. What looks like a very colorful bird photographed with a slow camera shutter on the can.
Pours unclear pale yellow with a big white head. Bubbly. Settles as an uneven lump of foam floating proudly about. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with smoky and salty notes. Sweet, smoked malts, salami and a bit of peat. A little citrus to lighten things up.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Salty tang. Aftertaste is sweetish with a touch of smoke. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Sweet and malty Helles with a nice touch of smoke.
